Our 14-Step Painting Process

Our meticulous process ensures high-quality results for both interior and exterior painting projects.

Step 1: Pressure Wash (for homes built after 1978): We’ll pressure wash the house from top to bottom to remove all the dirt, debris, and cobwebs thoroughly.
Step 2: Scrape and Sand Loose Paint We scrape, sand, and carefully remove flaking paint to prepare the surface for a smooth finish.
Step 3: Reset Loose Nails We’ll appropriately set loose nails on siding, trim, and eaves unless otherwise instructed, ensuring everything is secure.
Step 4: Prime Bare Areas We properly prime bare areas, including metal gutters and downspouts with galvanized and rust-inhibitive primers, and stucco and wood surfaces with suitable primers.
Step 5: Caulk Windows and Door Frames We caulk windows and door frames to enhance the paint appearance and help insulate windows. (Note: This does not apply to stucco home windows. Caulking may expand or shrink due to weather or temperature, and it is not guaranteed as part of the peeling or flaking guarantee. Caulking is a maintenance part of painting.)
Step 6: Patch Cracks In Stucco We patch cracks in stucco as needed to ensure a smooth, uniform finish.
Step 7: Remove and Replace Fixtures We carefully remove light fixtures, address numbers, house racks, etc., prior to painting, and replace them upon completion of the project.
Step 8: Patch Cracked Boards We patch cracks in fascia, siding, trim boards, and more as needed to protect and enhance the appearance of your home.
Step 9: Repair Leaky Gutters We seal and patch leaky gutters as needed (Note: This is a non-guaranteed cosmetic fix).
Step 10: Protect Windows And Gardens We fully cover all windows and gardens prior to painting to ensure no accidental paint damage occurs.
Step 11: Drips, Sags, and Runs We professionally apply paint with the correct thickness to ensure no drips, sags, or runs, leaving a flawless finish.
Step 12: Apply Major Paint Brand We use top-quality paints from major brands such as Sherwin Williams and Kelly Moore to ensure a lasting finish.
Step 13: Spotless Clean Up We clean all walkways, sidewalks, and unpainted areas to satisfaction, leaving your property spotless.
